"The Secret of Santo Stefano Island" is about a U.S. Sailor, Jack Griggs, who serves aboard the USS Virgina a nuclear powdered fast attack submarine. The story begins with the USS Virginia is alongside the USS Emory S. Land for emergency repairs, when Petty Officer First Class Jack Griggs discovers that his best friend, David Lockner, may have overheard a secret of international importance that could cause great harm to US-Italian relations, damage the image of the US Navy, and ruin the career of Admiral Van Mater. Jack and spends the next two days running for his life while he tries to prevent Lockner from making a mistake that could send them both to Leavenworth. | In 1973, Vern, CIA station chief in Athens, Greece, contracted ex-US Navy SEAL, Jay Gulley, who had served two tours in Vietnam, to do some of his "heavy lifting." In 1948 Jabonkah Sackey was born in the African bush of Liberia to a mother who was 14 years old. Her mother, Zena, was the second of three wives of John Henry Sackey. He was a cruel and abusive father and husband. Jabonkah's rebellious nature and being thought a witch, because she was left- handed, provoked her father's the continual wrath. John Henry took her womanhood away at age 8, and then unable to tame her free spirit with his belt and buckle at age 12 he gave her away her to a Christian Missionary before he killed her. John Henry told the missionary that she could have because she was good for nothing. The black Christian missionary, Maggie Lampkins, from Oakland, California enslaved Jabonkah to serve 200 boys in her Christian boarding school. Jabonkah rose above the pain, suffering, and slavery through her tremendous strength of character and later her newly discovered faith in God. Driving The Birds is story based on the unique and fascinating childhood of Jabonkah Sackey. This book was written with the assistance of Ruth Sibert. First draft is complete! |
